Yesterday the Toubabsteam presented the project for the construction of the health centre in the Why not? Café, a solidarity cafeteria and language school in Hamburg, Germany. It was a cold evening, but the 13 people assisting the event warmed it with their engagement and interest on the project. All their questions were answered and I am sure they returned home with as much enthusiasm as we have.
For me, as representative of the Toubabsteam in Hamburg, it was one of the happiest days since the crowdfunding campaign started. Having so many people supporting me, listening with so much interest (for some of them for the 1000th time)… I cannot describe how I felt.
I would like to use the post to thank all of them, present or not, and tell THEIR STORY.
I have received from all of them supportive messages, in addition to the donations, coming sometimes from people who cannot afford more, unemployed or students donating only a few euros, but as we already said, every euro counts.
I talk also about this one who posted it in Facebook, or the other who sent a mail to all his contacts, the other to put a poster in his gym or at work, or the guy who took notes to improve the presentation. The girl who discovered I forgot to write something very important in the flyer, or the other who reminded me to explain what Toubab means. To this friend who arrived in the last minute to congratulate us for the project. The guys volunteering at the bar, who helped us and listened to the presentation, to the respectful students who listened during the presentation. And of course to the responsible of the Why not Café, Daniela, for letting me use their facilities for the presentation.
And, and, and… I could thank for hours.
Only because of ALL OF YOU we are near to the MINIMUM.
